NewtradeagreementsandrequirementsgeneratedbytheWorldTrade Organization(WTO)furtherreinforcedthenecessityforimprovedliveaquaticanimal healthmanagement. Recognizingtheneedforaregion-wideapproachtoaquaticanimal healthmanagement,thenationalgovernmentsofcountriesoftheAsiaRegionrequested FAO.throughNACA,toassistproductionofasetoftechnicalguidelinesthatcouldbe used toImprove and harmonize aquaticanimal health management strategies for responsibletrans-boundarymovementofliveaquaticanimals.
