There are two types of help: Screen Overview and Field Level. They are both accessed by positioning your cursor on the desired area of the screen and pressing F1. Screen Overview text will be displayed if your cursor is in the screen title area (anywhere on the top 2 rows of the screen); otherwise, Field Level text will be displayed. Note in the examples that follow that the small black box represents the cursor position at the time the F1 help key was pressed. First is an example of Screen Overview help text: 4/29/00 FY 0 HAPPY PUBLIC SCHOOLS 8:16:51 SSLAPTOPS2 AOS (cid:74) Print Cut-Sheet Student/Guardian Labels Ref: AOS.515P.01 Opt Label Format Name Dis Sch Description _ ____________________ ___ () ___ () _ STANDARD LABELS FPS 003 STANDARD LABELS _ AG LABELS FPS 004 AG PARENT LABELS _ BAND LABELS FPS 004 HIGH SCHOOL BAND PARENT LABELS _ CHOIR LABELS FPS 004 HIGH SCHOOL CHOIR LABELS _ ELEM ABSENCE LABELS FPS 004 ELEM ABSENCE LABELS _ FHS TRANSCRIPT LABEL FPS 004 FHS TRANSCRIPT LABEL _ ORCHESTRA LABELS FPS 004 HIGH SCHOOL ORCHESTRA LABELS ............................................................................... : Item: PRINT CUT-SHEET STUDENT/GUARDIAN LABELS Enter=Return : : : : Use this program to print labels for students or guardians on a laser or : : inkjet printer. In addition, your : : label formats are stored so they may be easily "run" the next time you : : need labels. : : : : More... : :.............................................................................: The help text information box is shown either on the top half or bottom half of the screen – always the half opposite the cursor so you can still view the field for which help text is being accessed. You need to determine the appropriate number of "blank columns : : at left" that will make your printer produce labels well. : : : : Start with a value of 0. Help text for some fields is necessarily longer than that of others. You are able to use the Page Up / Page Down keys to scroll through such help text.
