I’m hopeful that during the Wood Floors and Cupboards. time I’m here (in Rochester), I’ll be able to affect some change in the department to help it to grow as the town continues to grow and probably make a worthwhile contribution to the department, particularly in the areas of the new building.” Currently residing in Yarmouthport with his wife and two youngest sons, Chief Przybylek commutes to and from Rochester in a vehicle provided by the town but he plans to make the move closer — certainly to “this side of the bridge” — within a year, both to be closer to his family and to make himself more readily available to the Rochester department. “At first, it didn’t seem to be a problem, but as time wore on, I got kind of tired of driving that distance,” he said. “I don’t like to be separated from my family ... and I think (the town) felt it was more important for me to be closer to work. So we agreed that I’m going to make every effort to get over here ... within the next year. We’re trying to do a well-thought-out move into the area.” With the construction of a new Police/ Communications building well underway — a structure which is right on schedule to be completed by June 1 of this year — Chief Przybylek will have plenty of challenges and projects to face under his watch.
