If you believe that you need more information, check with the Undergraduate Admissions Office at 617.287.6100 (if you are an undergraduate) orwith your program director (if you are a graduate student). If you are a continuing student enrolled in a degree or certificate program, the university has sent you important information you will need for registration. The information includes a new student ID number—, which you will need for access to the newWISER system, and your "enrollment appoint- ment" that is, the period during which you are eligible to register. As a rule, the more credits you have accumulated, the earlier the enrollment appointment period will begin. If you are concerned because you haven't received this information, you may call the Registrar's Office (617.287.6200) or visit "The One Stop" (CC Upper Level) to check on your status. You should also be sure, before you register, to discuss your course selections and academic require- mentswith an appropriate advisorfrom the University Advising Center or your college, major depart- ment, or graduate program. If you are a graduate student and will not be enrolling for any courses this semester, you are required to pay a $175.00 program fee to maintain continuous enrollment. You must submit the program fee form, signed by your program director, with the $175.00 fee by February 4 to avoid paying the $50.00 late fee. Ifyou are an undergraduate in the College of Public and Community Service (CPCS) or you wantto registerfor a CPCS course, please see the information on page 15. Registration proce- dures for CPCS differfrom those described in this publication, and involve advising in the CPCS Student Services Office and on-line registration. If you wantto study at UMass Boston without seeking a degree or certificate, please see "Non-Degree Students" on page 16. You are welcome to take nearly any course as long as you are academically prepared for it and space is available (for graduate courses, you will need permission from the graduate program director or, in some cases, the instructor). You may also be able to apply credits you have earned to degree or certificate requirements. If you want to take an off-campus, Friday evening, Saturday, or on-line course, or any other course or section identified with a "cede" code in this publication, please see the information on page 12. These courses, which are administered by the University's Division of Corporate, Continuing, and Distance Education, are like other UMass Boston courses in terms of their substance and relation- ship to degree requirements, but the charges, and dates for them differ from those for most courses listed in this publication. If you are neither a citizen nor a permanent resident ofthe United States, please see "Information for International Students" on page 20. We encourage you to review course descriptions for all courses you mightwant to take.
