MINISTRY OF PETROLEUM AND NATURAL GAS
NOTIFICATION
New Delhi, the 22nd December, 2016
S.O. 65(E).—Whereas by notification of Government of India in the Ministry of Petroleum and
Natural Gas, number S.O. 1366(E) dated 06-04-2016, issued under sub-section (1) of Section 3 of the
Petroleum and Minerals Pipelines (Acquisition of Right of User in Land) Act, 1962 (50 of 1962) (hereinafter
referred to as the said Act), the Government of India had declared its intention to acquire the Right of User in
land, specified in the Schedule appended to that notification for transportation of Liquid Ethane from Dahej
Manufacturing Division in Gujarat to Nagothane Manufacturing Division in Maharashtra of M/s. Reliance
Industries Limited (RIL), RIL’s dedicated Dahej-Nagothane Ethane Pipeline should be laid by M/s. Reliance
Gas Pipelines Limited;
And whereas, the copies of the said Gazette notification were made available to the public by
28.04.2016 to 23.05.2016;
And whereas, no objection received from the public to the laying of the said pipeline;
And whereas, the Competent Authority has under sub-section (1) of Section 6 of the said Act,
submitted report to the Government of India;
And whereas, the Government of India, after considering the said report and on being satisfied that
the said land is required for laying the said pipeline, has decided to acquire the Right of User therein, free
from all encumbrances;
Now, therefore, in exercise of the powers conferred by sub-section (1) of Section 6 of the said Act,
the Government of India hereby declares that the Right of User in the land, specified in the Schedule,
appended to this notification, is hereby acquired for laying the said pipeline;
And further, in exercise of the powers conferred by sub-section (4) of Section 6 of the said Act, the
Government of India hereby directs that the Right of User in the said land for laying the pipeline shall, instead
of vesting in the Government of India, vest on the date of publication of the declaration, in M/s. Reliance Gas
Pipelines Limited, free from all encumbrances.
