L.-33004/99 The Gazette of India EXTRAORDINARY PART II~Scction 3—Sub-section (ii) PUBLISHED BY AUTHORITY No. 14] NEW DELHI, MONDAY, JANUARY 8, 2001/PAUSA 18,1922 67 GI/2001 (1) 2 ^ THE GAZETTE OF INDIA : EXTRAORDINARY [PART II—SEC. 3(ii)] MINISTRY OF COMMERCE AND INDUSTRY (Department of Commerce) NOTIFICATION New Delhi, the 5th Januaiy, 2001 s. o. is(E).—Whereas the Central Government is satisfied that the circumstances have arisen rendering it necessary in the public interest that certain of the restrictions imposed by the Tobacco Board Act, 1975 (4 of 1975) should cease to be imposed; And whereas the Central Government has considered it appropriate to dispose of the excess Flue Cured Virginia (FCV) tobacco at the designated auction platforms of the tobacco Board. Now, therefore, in exercise of powers conferred under Section 30 read with Clause (g) of sub-section (2) of Section 8 of the Tobacco Board Act, 1975 (4 of 1975), the Central Government hereby relaxes the operation of the provision of Section 10 of the said Act in the State of Karnataka fqr a period up to 28th February 2001 from the date of publication of this notification in the Official Gazette and permits the sale of unauthorized FCV tobacco crop at the auction platforms authorized by the Tobacco Board on payment of extra fee of Rs.2/- per kg. NOTIFICATION New Delhi, the 5tii January, 2001 s. o. 16(E).— Whereas the Central Government is satisfied that the circumstances have arisen rendering it necessary in the public interest to protect the registered growers of tobacco from the entry of unauthorized tobacco produced in excess by registered farmers and produced unauthorizedly by unregistered farmers; And whereas the Centra! Government has considered it appropriate to dispose of the excess Flue Cured Virginia (FCV) tobacco at the designated auction platforms as per the conditions mentioned below. Now, therefore, in exercise of powers conferred under Section 20A read with Clause (g) of sub-section (2) of Section 8 of the Tobacco Board Act, 1975 (4 of 1975), the Central Government authorizes for a period up to 28th February 2001, the Tobacco Board to admit the regular and registered traders and dealers of the Tobacco Board to purchase at its auction platforms, the production of unauthorized tobacco produced by registered and unregistered farmers in the State of Karnataka subject to the following conditions: (1) a 5% service charge be imposed on the unregistered grower and the registered grower having grown an unauthorized quantity sold at the auction platforms in Karnataka; and (2) to furnish a copy of the Record of Rights in respect of the tobacco crop for the year 2000.
