The conferences have also struck a balance between theoretical and application development. The conferencecommitteeshavebeenformedwith over300committeememberswho aremainlyresearchcenterheads, facultydeans, departmentheads, professors, and researchscientistsfromover30countries.Thecongressistrulyglobalinternational event with a high level of participation from many countries. The response to the Congress has been excellent. There have been more than 900 manuscript submissionsfor the WCE 2014. All submitted papershave gone throughthe peer reviewprocess,andtheoverallacceptancerateis51%. Thisvolumecontains51revisedandextendedresearcharticleswrittenbypromi- nentresearchersparticipatingintheconference.Topicscoveredincludemechanical engineering, bioengineering, internet engineering, wireless networks, signal and image engineering, manufacturing engineering, and industrial applications.
