Amongthese, emphasisisgiventotherailwaybehaviourwherethestructuralelementsareof great relevance. One of the relevant aspects concerns the effects of the track-bridge interaction, which establishes restricted limits to the vibration and deformability of the structure in order to controltheacceleration, thestressesandthetrackdeformations, sothatthecirculationsafetyis satisfied, whilestronglyconditioningthestructuraldesignsolutionsforbridges. Theabilitytoaddressthemultipleissuesrelevanttothisprocessrequiresexpertiseandknow- how, whichhavebeenrecentlydevelopedinthisfield, withrepercussionsintermsoftheEuropean regulationsinthisdomain. The themes included in this book are mainly based on the papers presented at the workshop “TRACK-BRIDGEINTERACTIONONHIGH-SPEEDRAILWAYS”organisedbytheFaculdade deEngenhariadaUniversidadedoPorto(FEUP)andtheEscuelaTecnicaSuperiordeIngenierosde CaminosCanalesyPuertosdeMadrid(ETSICCyP).Thisbookisincludedinasetofthreebooks: onewithamoregeneralthematic“BRIDGESFORHIGH-SPEEDRAILWAYS”andotherwith amorefocusedthematic,suchasthepresentbook,“DYNAMICSOFHIGH-SPEEDRAILWAY BRIDGES”.
