ADD stands for attention deficit disorder. This book is also for if you have been labeled ADHD. ADHD stands for attention deficit hyperactivity disorder. Kids are given the ADD and ADHD labels because differ- ences in the way their brains work make it hard for them to do some things—like pay attention or sit still. Regardless of which label you have been given, The Survival Guide for Kids with ADD or ADHD can help you. The book uses the ADHD label because it’s the one that most people who work with kids use. You can read more about these labels in Chapter 1.
