But very early in my Denison experience, found out that Denison was extremely welcom- I ing. Although my time has been filled with laughter and tears, have I enjoyed each and every moment here at Denison. As sit here and I write this letter to you, simply can not imagine having gone any- I where else. As you embark on the next four years of your college experi- ence, ask that you make the best of your time here. Each of you are I amazing individuals with so much potential and want you to enjoy I yourself and make Denison a better place because you came here. Attending a school like Denison opens the doors to so many possi- bilities. You will each have the opportunity to join over 160 organiza- tions, hold leadership positions and truly leave your mark and create a legacy here at Denison. ask that you get involved and make the I best of your experience. I With Best Regards, De'Von McRavion Finance Chair Denison Campus Governance Association Campus Denison Governance Association The purpose of the Denison Campus Governance Association is to ensure direct student participation in campus gov- ernance, to protect the rights of the students of Denison University, and to determine the legitimate needs and desires of the students and manifest them in policy and institutional action. The DCGA Senate is made up of 52 elected repre- sentatives: eight senators and two co-governors from each class and two representatives from the African American student community (Black Student Union), the International Community (Denison International Students Association), the Gay, Lesbian, Bi-Sexual, Transgender Community (Outlook), the Latino/Latina Student Community (LaFuerza Latina), the Jewish Student Community and the Asian-American (Hillel), student Community (Asian Culture Club). The walk down to and back from Mitchell is a part of your workout. 6. You've had lunch with at least one of your professors. 7. You know the names of all the lunch ladies. 8. You avoid walking on the seal in front of Swasey Chapel for fear of being "cursed." 9. The Bandersnatch and Jazzman's becomes your spot for your 2 a.m. coffee fix. 10. You get excited when you receive an e-mail from the Slayter Package Room. 11. You have your own secret study spot somewhere on the academic quad. 12. You have a nickname for each dorm on campus. 13. You go out at 2 a.m. with friends to one of the following places: Brews, Steak and Shake, TeeJays, or Wal-Mart.
