Andlast but n< least-Congratulations Seniors- 1 hopeyouenjoythe book. Salem State College Yearbook Dedication May 17, 1999 Program Council hereby dedicates the 1999 Clipper Yearbook to Dr. Stanley P. Cahill, Vice President for Student Life. This dedication is given to Dr. Cahill for his outstanding contributions to the students ofSalem State College. Prior to his position as Vice President for Student Life, Dr. Cahill held a variety ofother positions within student affairs. He was Dean ofStudents at Salem State, Director ofStudent Life at West Chester University in Pennsylvania, Assistant Director ofStudent Conduct at Kent State University, Assistant Dean ofStudents at Northern Michigan University, and Resident Director at Michigan State University. iDr. Cahill holds a Ph.D. in Higher Education and Student Personnel and a Masters Degree in jLabor and Industrial Relations from Michigan State University. He also possesses a Master of Education Degree in Student Personnel Administration and a Bachelor ofScience Degree in Education from Kent State University. Dr. Cahill has consistently been a strong supporter ofcampus activities, athletic programs, as well as groups and clubs. He has demonstrated this through his participation in numerous ceremonies and events, including, the Leadership Induction Ceremony, Leadership Renewal Day, Commuter .Appreciation Day, the Leadership Institute, Homecoming, the Groups and Clubs Reception, sSenior Awards, and the list goes on and on. The athletic program has also enjoyed tremendous Support from Dr. Cahill, who is often in attendance at both home and away games. Additionally, (Dr. Cahill is known for his active participation in diverse programs sponsored by the African American Student Association, the Women's Center, the Gay/Straight Alliance, Program Council, the Student Government Association and many others. IDr. Cahill's commitment to students is evident not only by his participation in campus events, but also by the manner in which he relates to students. Dr. Cahill is extremely approachable and makes himselfvery accessible to students. He is always willing to meet with students to discuss their concerns, or visit a Student Government meeting to talk to students and help them understand the issues at hand. Dr. Cahill has also been very supportive ofnew initiatives which benefit students, including the opening ofthe new Viking Grill eatery, as well as the creation ofa new lounge, Cyber Cafe, and .student services center on the first floor ofthe Campus Center. In recognition ofhis tireless commitment to the students ofSalem State College and to the academic institution as a whole, we would dike to dedicate the 1999 Clipper Yearbook to Dr. Stanley P.
