Her writing can be found in such journals as Theatre Journal, Performance Matters, The International Journal of Performance Arts and Digital Media, Participations and The International Journal of Screendance, for which she currently serves as co-editor. Essays can also be found in the Oxford Handbook of Dance and the Popular Screen, Choreographies of 21st Century War and Dance on Its Own Terms: Histories and Methodologies. Elizabeth Bergman is a dancer, improviser and educator based in Philadelphia. She is currently a University Fellow in the doctoral programme in Dance Studies at Temple University. Her dissertation focuses on the short films of Michael Jackson and his choreographic collaborators. Bergman also holds a MFA in dance performance from the University of Iowa (2009). Hetty Blades is Research Fellow in the Centre for Dance Research (C-DaRE) at Coventry University. Her research explores philosophical questions around the transmission, documentation and reception of dance. Since completing her PhD at C-DaRE in 2015, Hetty has worked on projects funded by AHRC, ESRC and EU, and published widely on the topic of dance and digitization. She was Researcher in Residence at the Digital Catapult Centre in London in 2016. Yvonne Daniel, Professor Emerita of Dance and Afro-American Studies from Smith College, has worked as a choreographer/performer and as an anthropologist specializing in Circum-Caribbean societies. Her publications include Rumba (1995), Dancing Wisdom, Embodied Knowledge (SDHS de la Torre Bueno prize winner, 2006) and Caribbean and Atlantic Diaspora Dance: Igniting Citizenship (National Libraries ‘Choice’ Award, 2011). In recognition of her lifetime commitment and pursuit of excellence in dance research, she received the International Association of Blacks in Dance Scholars’ Award (2018). Sherril Dodds is Professor of Dance at Temple University.
