NOTIFICATIONS BY GOVERNMENT RURAL DEVELOPMENT AND PANCHAYAT RAJ DEPARTMENT REMOVAL OF CHAIRMAN OF PERANAMALLUR PANCHAYAT UNION COUNCIL, THIRUVANNAMALAI DISTRICT UNDER TAMIL NADU PANCHAYATS ACT. [G.O. Ms. No. 3, Rural Development and Panchayat Raj (P.R.IV),11th January 2010.] No. II(2)/RDPR/15(g)/2010. Whereas, a written notice of intention to make a motion expressing want of confidence in Thirumathi V. Vellachi, Chairman, Peranamallur Panchayat Union Council, Thiruvannamalai District, signed by fifteen members, out of the sanctioned strength of sixteen members of the said Council, together with a copy of motion proposed to be made and a written statement of charges against the said Chairman have been delivered to the Revenue Divisional Officer, Cheyyar, in person by the fifteen members, under the provision of sub-section (2) of Section 212 of the Tamil Nadu Panchayats Act, 1994 (Tamil Nadu Act 21 of 1994); And Whereas, the Revenue Divisional Officer, Cheyyar caused a copy of the statement of charges alongwith a copy of the notice of motion to be delivered, to the said Chairman Thirumathi V. Vellachi and she submitted her reply to the charges; And Whereas, a motion expressing want of confidence in Thirumathi V. Vellachi, Chairman, Peranamallur Panchayat Union Council, Thiruvannamalai District had been carried with a support of fifteen members out of the sanctioned strength of sixteen members of the said Panchayat Union Council in the meeting convened by the Revenue Divisional Officer, Cheyyar, on 14th July 2009, after following the procedures specified in section 212 of the said Act; Now, therefore, in exercise of powers conferred by sub-section (13) of Section 212 of the Tamil Nadu Panchayats Act, 1994 (Tamil Nadu Act 21 of 1994), the Governor of Tamil Nadu hereby removes Thirumathi V. Vellachi, Chairman, Peranamallur Panchayat Union Council, Thiruvannamalai District, from the Office of the Chairman of the said Panchayat Union Council with immediate effect. K.
