Affiliation: The university's historical relationship with the Lutheran Church benefits Susquehanna and its students. There is an active, broad-based campus ministry. Susquehanna University Elements ofa Susquehanna Education There are three major elements ofcourse work at Susquehanna: - TheCorecurriculum formsthebroad liberal artsbase inpreparation forspecialized study in any field. Core courses are spreadoverfouryears and total aboutone-third ofthegraduationrequirements. - MajorprogramsbuildontheCore foundationandusuallytotal anotherone-third ofcourses taken. Majors are designedto provide abroad introductionto the theory andpractice ofeach field; studentsmaychoosedepartmental, interdisciplinaryor self-designedmajors. - Electives typicallymake uptheremaining one-thirdofcourse work.
