Structurallyspeaking,theexhibitionspavilionconcentratesitsloadsonfourteenpillars,onwhich fourbracedmetallictrussesrest.Theadjacentbuildingiscomposedofaconcreteframeworkwhich containsthreeindependentprisms,coveredbyametallicgridthatletsnaturallightmakeitsway intothebuilding. The2006PritzkerArchitecturePrizeJuryCitationrefers:“…Hissignatureconcretematerials andintelligent,yetremarkablystraightforwardconstructionmethodscreatepowerfulandexpres- sive, internationally-recognized buildings. There is no doubt that the raw materials he uses in achievingmonumentalresultshavehadinfluencestheworldover. Hehasalsoprovenhismasteryofrestorationandrenovation,reaffirminghisunderstandingand respectforhiscountry’slegacyandhisownbeliefintherelevancyofthearchitectureofourtime.
