Why Stretch? The next time you see a dog, cat or even a baby who’s waking up from a good night’s sleep, watch what they do. They stretch. Stretching is an instinct that is built into animals and humans alike. It’s your body’s natural way of preparing your muscles and joints for the activity you’ll encounter while you’re awake. Sometimes, however, our brain clicks on over to full-throttle and bypasses the stretching warmup gear altogether. Life is busy. We have coffee to make, a shower to take and traffic to fight.
