IES College of Engineering (IESCE), the showpiece institution of the campus, was conceived and developed as a hi-tech technical training institution with state of the art facilities conforming to the specifications of All India Council of Technical Education (AICTE), New Delhi, APJ Abdul Kalam Technological University and University of Calicut. Dr. V. S Pradeepan is the Principal who leads a team of highly qualified and dedicated HODs and faculty members. IES is proud of having an overall strength of around 850 students, a fleet of 10 buses and separate hostels for boys and girls with modern amenities. The College is governed by a Board of Directors who brings to the table more than 40 years of experience in running educational institutions in International arena. The training methodology focuses on skill and personality development of the students, improving their talents and developing communication skills, managerial and administrative skills as well. All efforts are being made to develop it into a Centre of Academic Excellence. The College Departments offer consultancy and this promotes interface with industries. The college is a Muslim Minority Institution. The college started with 4 UG programmes during 2003-2004 with an intake of 60 each and has grown leaps and bounds to 5 UG programmes and 3 PG programmes respectively. IES Education City houses premium School and Higher Education Institutions. The flagship Institution is IES College of Engineering. In addition, the campus includes IES Public School and IES college of Architecture. IES Education City aims to promote ‘Transforming Education for a changing world’ among the student community. The parent organisation of IES is the Middle-East Education Services (MES), which runs the MES Indian School (MES IS) in Doha, Qatar. The MES IS established in 1974, is committed to quality education and social emancipation.A formidable presence in Qatar’s socio-cultural and educational firmament, Mr. Mohamed Ali K.P is currently helming IES Education City, as President. He brings more than 45 years of global experience as he has held many senior positions in various industrial and engineering conglomerates. After his course in Mechanical Engineering, he started his career as an educationalist in his hometown. He was incorporated into the Government Water Authority, Doha Qatar as a mechanical engineer, which was the first of his several assignments in the Middle–East region. Further, as Senior Project Engineer in Qatar Fertilizer Company, he accomplished a strong business and leadership record. His unfaltering and deep understanding of the educational, business and technical landscape in the region made him a notable personage in the Senior Management team at MES Indian School, Qatar. Mr. Mohamed Ali K.P has spearheaded many initiatives which has increased the visibility and credibility of the Institution, as he has been in the forefront of many innovative and positive changes in an evolving academic scenario. High-performing strategic management professional with more than 30 years experience in Food Industry, Mr. Syed Mohamed P T, Senior Vice president comes with a wealth of knowledge in organizational management and product marketing. His outstanding work has been in the areas of Foodstuffs trading, processing and production line management. Highly skilled at relationship building with clients and across organizations and teams. Adept at assessing needs, generating options and implementing management solutions in collaboration with stakeholders. He also comes with almost 20 years of experience in management of higher education sectors and instrumental as a founding member in the successful establishment of M.E.S Indian School in Doha, Qatar and IES Education City in Thrissur, India. Dr. V. S. Pradeepan has 31 years of experience in teaching and research. Several research scholars are pursuing research under his guidance. He has published more than 20 research papers in reputed international, national journals and conferences. He is a member of Indian Society for Technical Education, Institution of Engineers, Journal of “Pollution Research”, Indian Concrete Institute. He has organized many seminars / FDP’s. Students of IES College of Engineering excel in academic, extracurricular and Co- curricular activities. The academic ambience in the college endows students with independent, enlightening opportunities helping them to succeed continually. The increasing number of University ranks secured by the students year after year and increase in the percentage of course completion rate is a testimony of the effective teaching learning process adopted. The quality of projects, value added courses and training has resulted in the college becoming the preferred destination for recruitment with more number of companies visiting the campus and increase in the number of students placed. The research potential of our students is enhanced that leads to proven results in publication, project awards and recognition and admissions for higher studies in leading national and international universities. The facilities and encouragement provided by the college ensure that students surpass in extracurricular and co-curricular activities at national level. Qualified faculty with varied rich experience guarantee for imparting quality education. There are 92 faculty members out of which 5 with Ph.D. qualification and all others are P.G qualified. They consistently upgrade their knowledge by attending and organizing seminars, workshops, conferences, faculty development programmes in association with industries and professional societies. Many professors are approved supervisors. The faculty members are involved in functional committees to plan and execute the various activities apart from regular teaching and research. The Department of Training and Placement is headed by Mr. V.K.L. Mohanan, a veteran in the field of placement and training with over 15 years of experience in industries and prominent educational institutions of South India. This department interacts with reputed organizations all over the country for arranging campus placements for final year students. It facilitates in-plant training in prominent MNC’s and core companies. (cid:1) IESCE is equipped with State of the art language lab to improve the communication and presentation skills of the students. The centre has been successful in placing more than 800 candidates in various MNC’s such as Infosys, IBM , TCS, Wipro, L & T Suntec, Oracle and Reliance Communication to name a few and it is committed towards attaining 100% placements in the coming years. MAJOR ACHIEVEMENTS: (cid:1) Students have actively participated and presented their innovative ideas in various National / International Seminars. (cid:1) MOU have been established with UTL Technologies, Bangalore and Livewire, Chennai. Reliance JIO to be the first exclusive site in India having 4G MICROSOFT campus agreement. (cid:1) The institution has a TCS- ION Campus Agreement where we conduct many State and Central Government Exams, RRB Exams ,Gate Exams etc. (cid:1) Technical events are conducted in collaboration with IITs to mould the students in part with the caliber of IITs standard.
