EdwardC.Halper
isDistinguishedResearchProfessorofPhilosophyattheUniversityofGeorgia.
He has published two books on the problem of the one and the many in
Aristotle’sMetaphysicsandisnowcompletingathirdvolumeonitsfinalbooks.
His textbook for students on Aristotle’s Metaphysics has recently appeared.
Halper has also published another book and some fifty papers in academic
journalsandbooks,manyonAristotle,othersonawidevarietyofphilosophers
andphilosophicalissues.
MalcolmHeath
is Professor of Greek Language and Literature at Leeds University. He works
in many areas of Greek poetry and rhetoric, and ancient and modern liter-
arytheory.Heisauthorofsevenbooksaswellasnumerousarticles,including
atranslationof Aristotle’s Poetics(PenguinClassics,1996)and AncientPhilo-
sophicalPoetics(Cambridge,2013).HehasrecentlycompletedPoeticalAnimals:
Aristotle,AnthropologyandPoetry,andisworkingonatheoreticalcommentary
onAristotle’sPoetics.
HelenS.Lang
received her Ph.D. from the University of Toronto and was until her death
ProfessorofPhilosophyatVillanovaUniversity.ShewasaSeniorFellowatthe
DibnerInstitutefortheHistoryofScienceandTechnology,mitandaFellowat
theInstituteforAdvancedStudy,Princeton.Inadditiontonumerousarticles,
shepublished Aristotle’sPhysicsanditsMedievalVarieties(Albany,1992),The
OrderofNatureinAristotle’sPhysics(Cambridge,1998),and(withA.D.Macro)
