QFE3320 Low/Mid Band Tx Front-End Device Revision Guide 2.3 Sample testing 2.3.1 Engineering samples (ES) These devices have undergone limited testing, and sometimes have significant feature limitations. They are suitable to assist with PCB development, to conduct board-level electrical evaluation tests, and to explore manufacturing considerations. Engineering samples should not be used for phone-level qualification. 2.3.2 Commercial samples (CS) These devices have undergone full production-level testing and meet the specifications and features described in the device specification, except as otherwise noted in this document. They have passed device-level qualification. Commercial samples are suitable to be used for performance testing as well as phone-level production and qualification. 2.4 Compatible software releases Each sample type is for use with a particular AMSS software prerelease version (or later). They are not expected to be compatible with AMSS software releases that occurred earlier than that particular version. Table5 identifies the software compatibility of each sample type. The software release documented in this table is the minimum version; not all issues are resolved in the minimum software release. Table5 Software compatibility for each sample type 1 QFE3320 variant Compatible software Comments QFE3320 ES Information for other sample types will be added as they are released. 1. Refer to the corresponding software release notes for more details. 80-NJ121-4 Rev. QFE3320 Low/Mid Band Tx Front-End Device Revision Guide 3.2 Issues – description, impact, and workaround 3.2.1 ET and APT + DPD issues Issue1 Device-level reliability characterization is not complete Description Device-level reliability characterization is in progress. Impact The QFE3320 ES devices are not guaranteed to pass reliability specifications defined in the QFE3320 Low/Mid Band Tx Front-End Device Specification (Advance Information) (80-NJ121-1). Workaround Customers should not conduct device reliability tests with the ES devices. QTI will guarantee reliability specifications with CS devices. Return to Table6 Issue2 Device-level RF performance characterization is not complete Description Device-level RF performance characterization is in progress. Impact The QFE3320 ES devices are not guaranteed to pass all RF specifications defined in the QFE3320 Low/Mid Band Tx Front-End Device Specification (Advance Information) (80-NJ121-1). Workaround QTI will guarantee device-level RF performance specifications with CS devices. Return to Table6 Issue3 System-level RF performance characterization is not complete Description System-level RF performance characterization is in progress. System-level envelope tracking (ET) performance has not been verified. Impact There are potential 3GPP/3GPP2 failures in phone-level testing with ES devices. Workaround QTI will guarantee system-level RF performance with CS devices and CS software. Return to Table6 3.2.2 APT + DPD only issues Issue4 Mid-band UMTS/LTE PA can experience spurious specification violations Description When operating QFE3320-0 in APT + DPD mode, mid-band UMTS/LTE PA can experience spurious emission specification violations. Impact There are potential 3GPP/3GPP2 failures in phone-level testing. Workaround Customer must use QFE3320-1 since QFE3320-1 can support APT+DPD in HPM. Return to Table6 80-NJ121-4 Rev.
