Rotary International Day Parade. To refresh is to make positive changes in life, to restore spirit and enthusiasm, and to create this outlook for others. Students came back to Port Huron High School in the fall ready to meet new teachers, new classmates, and for the underclassmen, new graduation requirements. To refresh is to think outside of the box, to move forward with new innovations and designs, but still keep old traditions. New clubs sprung from this mode of thought, including the Forensics Club and the Be Nice (or else) Club. Many clubs were re-energized with new advisors taking over the helms of the Pokemon Club, Yearbook, and Student Council. To refresh is symbolic of Port Huron High School's pride and excellence. The splatters on each page, made of the dominate school color, red, helped refresh the white space and add a modernized look. Many sports teams also refreshed their appearance, by switching the traditional white or red background color of jerseys and t-shirts to black in hopes of updating their looks. Due to his significant change, many students created new ways to show their pride such as the "Black Out". Academics was also rejuvenated with the ad~ition of new teachers. The 201 0-201 l school year w•a s a refreshing change from the past and a refreshing beginning to a new decade of excellence without minimizing tradition and pride. After hours of dancing and singing practice, students swirled on stage to the music of Leonard Bernstein and Stephen Sondheim. Dancing to songs like "Mambo" and "Somewhere", the cast wowed the audience with difficult flips and lifts. The audience was equally amazed by the singing talents of the main cast members. Cheyenne Bolt' 1 0 and junior Zachary Pashenee played the title roles of Tony and Maria. Performing the parts of Riff and Bernardo, the two gang leaders, were Ryon Burrell '1 2 and Nathaniel Jackson '1 0. Due to the lack of male participants, the Drama Club had to look to the administration for help. Superintendent Mr. H.
