About the Author Dr. Katherine Miller is a leading scholar on processes of emotion and compassion in the workplace. She holds bachelor’s and master’s degrees in communication from Michigan State University, and a doctorate from the Annenberg School of Communication at the University of Southern California. She is currently a profes- sor at Arizona State University and has also served on the faculties of Michigan State University, University of Kansas, and Texas A&M University.
