HistoryofCase2696 An application for the designation ofa replacement neotype for Ixodes angustus Neumann, 1899 was received from Drs Richard G. Robbins & James E. Keirans (DepartmentofHealthandHumanServices,NationalInstituteofAllergyandInfectious Diseases,c/oSmithsonianInstitution, Washington,D.C., U.S.A.)on6December 1988. Aftercorrespondence thecasewaspublished in BZN46: 167-169 (September 1989). Notice ofthe case was sent to appropriatejournals. The proposal was supported by the U.S. National Institute of Allergy and Infectious Diseases (see para. 10 of the application). Acommentin supportfrom DrG.B. White(Editor, Medical& Veterin- aryMedicine)waspublishedinBZN47:211-212(September 1990),andwascirculated tothemembersoftheCommissionwiththevotingpapers. DecisionoftheCommission On 1 September 1990 the members ofthe Commission were invited to vote on the proposalspubhshedin BZN46: 168.
