I recommend using a hook one size smaller than what is specified on the
yarn to create tighter stitches. Tighter stitches will give your toy a clean and
polished look preventing the stuffing from showing through. If you use a

different yarn weight and hook size you may find you need to adjust the
parts to fit your amigurumi. Usually this is an easy fix by just going up/down
a hook size.

Ears: make 2
The owl’s ears are crocheted directly onto the head. It is not a separate piece.
You will be crocheting one ear with the face facing toward yourself and the other ear
with the back of the head facing towards yourself. This is done so the ears mirror
each other. It may sound a little confusing but see the photo tutorial below for
guidance.
*With the SILVER yarn and 3.00mm hook

Round 5: *With the GREY yarn, ch 1. Working only the outside loops, sl st in all 24
sts. Sl st in first st. [24]
Leave a long tail for sewing and fasten off
*With the black lace yarn and 1.00mm hook (Doll eyes optional)
Round 1: 6 sc in magic ring [6]

Beak:
*With the YELLOW yarn and 3.00mm hook
Round 1: 6 sc in magic ring [6]
Round 2: (inc) repeat 6 times [12]
Round 3: sc in all 12 sts [12]
Leave a long tail for sewing and fasten off
Finished beak. Close the opening using the yarn
tail and the yarn needle. Once
you close the opening, pull on
the yarn tail to tighten. This will
help round the beak up.
How to create a puff stitch:
Step 1. Yarn over (yo), insert the hook in the stitch, yarn over, draw the yarn through the
stitch, yarn over, and draw the yarn through the 2 loops on the hook. 

Step2. Repeat above step 3 more times. You will have 4 half-way completed dc on your
hook.

Step 3: Yarn over and draw the yarn through all 5 loops on the hook. 

This completes a 4-double-crochet puff stitch!

Round 1: ch 2,13 dc in magic ring (first ch2 counts as 1 dc), sl st into first ch 2.
Ch 2 [14]
Round 2: (inc) repeat 14 times, sl st into first ch 2. Ch 2. [28]
Round 3: (inc, dc) repeat 14 times, sl st into first ch 2. [42]
Round 4: Fold the circle in half and working the back loops only, close the opening
with sl st [21]
Leave a tail for weaving and fasten off
*No stuffing required

*With the SILVER yarn
Hold the wing so the fold is at the bottom (sl st end facing up).
Working the back loops only, ch1, (sl st in next st, picot st in next st) repeat 10 times,
sl st. [21]
*With the WHITE yarn
You will now be working the front loops (opposite the loops worked for the silver)
