PREFACE
We feel immense pleasure in bringing out the proceeding of the National Conference on Advances in
Technology and Applied Sciences (NCATAS-2014) held at JIET School of Engineering and
Technology for Girls, Jodhpur on March 28-29, 2014. Reputed government agencies, namely, the
Defense Research & Development Organization (DRDO) and Oil India Limited (OIL) were the lead
sponsors of NCATAS-2014. Support was also provided by Oil and Natural Gas Corporation
(ONGC) and International Journal of Computer Application (IJCA). We believe that the aim of the
conference to bring together researchers, academicians and scientists on a common platform to
discuss the state of the art, the latest fundamental and applied research and also identification of
areas of cooperation between industry and academicians has been fulfilled. Our priority was
―expansion of awareness‖ to further stimulate research activities by removing ―mistaken certainties‖.
We are sure that NCATAS-2014 has provided mental orientation to all the participants in terms of
research work in the field of technology and applied sciences.
We seize this opportunity to express our gratitude to honorable Dr. S.R. Vadera (Director, DRDO),
Shri J.K. Borgohain (GGM, OIL), Shri Anil Dubey (GM, ONGC) and Prof.(Dr.) Anil Mathur (RTU,
Kota) for motivating and inspiring the participants and delegates during the inaugural and
valedictory function of the conference.
This challenging task would not have been successful without the constant and meticulous guidance
of Dr. S.L. Agarwal, Ar. Shashikant Singhi, Er.Navneet Agarwal, Prof. S.L.Mali, Prof.(Dr.) Rajendra
Karwa, Prof. (Dr.) H.K. Bedi and Prof. (Dr.)R.K. Gupta, and the honorable members of the advisory
committee under the leadership of Prof.(Dr.) V.S. Bansal.
We express our profound gratitude to the keynote speakers and chairpersons of the various technical
sessions including Prof. (Dr.) S.K. Chakarvarti, Prof. (Dr.) K. K. Gupta, Prof. (Dr.) K.R. Chowdhary,
Prof. (Dr.) Sanjeev Mishra, Prof. (Dr.) Jayashri Vajpai, Prof. (Dr.) B. L. Mathur, Prof. (Dr.) A.R.
Garg and Prof. (Dr.) R.K. Gutpa who enlightened the delegates and the audience of the latest
developments in their respective fields. We also convey our sincere thanks to the reviewers for the
whole hearted support extended by them in making this conference a success.

Out of the 71 papers received for the conference, 58 were accepted while 37 were presented. This
proceeding contains the abstracts/full length papers submitted and presented during the conference in
four sequential technical sessions, two of which were held on March 28, 2014 and the other two on
March 29, 2014.

We would like to express our sense of obligations to Dr.Rakesh Kothari, Dr.Anup Kackar,
Mr.Utkarsh Bhandari, Mr.Mukesh Mathur, Mr. Jitendra Choudhary, Mr.Nishant Goyal and Mr. Anil
Chandora for their valuable administrative support.

We sincerely acknowledge all our student volunteers who worked tirelessly day and night in
organizing this conference. Lastly, we convey our thanks to all the members of organizing committee
and all the faculty and staff members of JIET and JIETSETG who were involved in this exercise for
several months. We must have missed some names of those who have helped us in many ways;

KEY NOTE SPEAKERS AND CHAIR PERSONS
Dr. S. K. Chakarvarti is presently serving as a Professor and Asso.Dean-Research and
Development in Manav Rachna International University at Faridabad, Haryana. Formerly, he was
Dean – Academics at National Institute of Technology, Kurukshetra, Haryana. He has vast teaching
experience of 46 years, has guided 17 PhDs and has published more than 580 research papers in
international and national journals. His areas of specialization include Nano/micro Technology,
Electronics, Instrumentation, Experimental Nuclear Physics/Engineering, General Physics, Solid
State Physics and Remote Sensing. He has carried out several sponsored research projects in these
areas. He is the reviewer and editor of several national and international journals. He also has two
patents to his name and has been honored with numerous awards and medals of merit including
‗International Man of the Year‘ by IOB, Cambridge, England for the year 1998-99.He is member of
various societies and organizations including American Association of Physics Teachers (USA),
International Nuclear Track Society (Germany/USA) and American Nano Society (USA).
Dr. K. K. Gupta is presently serving as Principal, Aggarwal College, Ballabgarh, Rohtak and has
total teaching experience of over 25 years. He has been the recipient of many Awards of Honour
including Indira Gandhi Sadbhavna Award (2012), Rajiv Gandhi Vidya Gold Award (2012), Shiksha
Rattan Puruskar (2011), Rajiv Gandhi Education Excellence Award (2011), Jewel of India Award
(2010), and International Educator of the Year 2009 award. He is the Elected President of Nuclear
Track Society of India and assessor for National Assessment and Accreditation Council (NAAC). He
has regularly been an invited speaker, member of organizing committees and has chaired technical
sessions in several National/International Conferences. Dr. Krishan Kant is a life Member of various
societies including Nuclear Track Society of India (BARC, Mumbai), Indians Science Congress
Association (Kolkata) and Indian Association for Air Pollution Control (Delhi Chapter).
Dr. Sanjeev Mishra is presently working as Professor at University College of Engineering, RTU,
Kota. He did his doctorate in Industrial & Management Engineering from IIT Kanpur and M.E.
(Production & Industrial Engineering) from MBM Engineering College, Jodhpur. His areas of
research include Operation Research, Simulation, Production and Quality Management, Stochastic
Modeling, FMS, Queuing Systems and Nanotechnology. He is well acquainted with Statistical
Methods such as DOE and Taguchi methods and also well versed with packages such as
STATISTICA, LINGO/LINDO and AUTOCAD. He is a fellow member of Institution of Engineers
and life member of ISTE.
Dr. B. L. Mathur is presently serving as Professor and Head-P.G.(Electrical Engineering) at JIET
Group of Institutions, Jodhpur. Formerly, he was Professor and Head at SSN College of Engineering
(Chennai) and Kota Engineering College (Kota). He did his Ph.D.(Power System Protection)
fromIISC Bangalore in 1979 and M.Tech. (Power Systems) fromIIT-Bombay in 1964 and has over
50 years of teaching and research experience. He has over 150 publications in National/International
Conference and Journals. He has been the coordinator for a number of STTPs. He has carried out a
number of research projects and has guided 8 PhD scholars. He has been involved in the design and
execution of various industrial projects including design of motors for lifting gates of Kagadi Spill
way for the Government of Rajasthan. He has been honored with various awards including Sir
Vitthal N. Chandavarkar Memorial Gold Medal for his Ph.D. thesis which was adjudged the best for
application to industries at IISc Bangalore in 1999. His areas of interest include
Dr. (Mrs.) Jayashri Vajpai is presently serving the Electrical Engineering Department of Jai Narain
Vyas University, Jodhpur as Associate Professor. She is recipient of Sir Thomas Ward Memorial
Gold Medal awarded by the Institute of Engineers (I) and AICTE Career Award for Young Teachers.
She has also won University Gold Medal and Seth Ram Kunwar Bangur Memorial Gold Medal. She

has published more than a hundred papers in various International and National Journals,
Conferences and Seminars. She is the reviewer of several journals and on the editorial board of two
International Journals. She is the presenter and subject expert of a series of educational films on
―Artificial Intelligence‖ being broadcast in the UGC Country-Wide Classroom Programmes. Her
research interests include Soft Computing, Artificial Intelligence, Fault Diagnosis, Adaptive Control
and Image Processing. She has carried out several sponsored research projects in these areas.
Dr. K. R. Chowdhary is presently the Campus Director at JIET School of Engineering and
Technology for Girls, Jodhpur. Formerly, he was Professor and Head at Computer Science and
Engineering Department in MBM Engineering College, JNV University, Jodhpur. He has also been a
visiting faculty at IIT Jodhpur. He has been honoured with various awards including Eminent
Computer Engineer‘s Award from Institute of Engineers (India), Calcutta. He has over 58
publications in various National/International Conferences and Journals. He is member of various
societies and organizations including ACM, SIGIR, SIGPLAN, IE and ISTE. He has organized a
number of National Conferences and has been the editor and reviewer of various conferences and
journals. He has authored a text book entitled ‗Fundamentals of Discrete Mathematical Structures‘
published by PHI.
Dr. A.R. Garg is presently working as an Associate Professor in the Department of Electrical
Engineering, J.N.V. University Jodhpur. He has been the Founder Principal of Vyas Engineering
College for Girls, Jodhpur. He has more than thirty publications in National/International Journals
and Conferences. He is a life member of various societies and organizations including ISTE and
International Brain Research Organization (IBRO), Fellow of Institution of Engineers, (India),
Member of Syndicate J.N.V. University, Jodhpur and Former member of Academic Council, J.N.V.
University, Jodhpur. He is the recipient of young teacher career award from A.I.C.T.E, DAAD
(German Academic Exchange Program) Fellowship, US Naval Academy Fellowship and IBRO
Fellowship. He has been to various countries including USA (Boston), Germany, Berlin, Portugal
and Hong Kong for Academic & Research Pursuits.
Dr. R.K. Gupta is currently Dean (Sciences) at JIETSETG, Jodhpur. Formerly he was Professor and
Head at Department of Physics, JNV University, Jodhpur. He did his B.Sc. (Hons.) and M.Sc.
(Physics) from University of Delhi and Ph.D. from Jai Narain Vyas University (erstwhile University
of Jodhpur. He was deputed as an expert for three years at Arab Gulf Naval Academy (Govt. of
Iraq), Basrah by Govt. of India. He also served as Principal for three years in Vaish College of
Engineering, Rohtak. He is a Life Member of various professional bodies including Indian Science
Congress Association, Indian Physics Association and Broadcast Engineering Society (India). He has
published over 50 papers in various National/International Journals and Conferences.
