birth,languageandreligionwasusedtoidentifythevisibleminoritypopulation.
Thereisaneedtomeasurethevisibleminoritypopulationinamoredirectway.
StatisticsCanadadidcollectdataonracebetween1871 and1941.
1.3 Whyaresomevisibleminoritygroupsoversampledforthetest?
Somegroupshavebeenoversampledinordertoensureasmuchinputas
possiblefrommembersofvisibleminoritygroups.ThisalsohelpsStatistics
Canadainplanningcommunicationandcollectionapproacheswithgroupswho
donothaveeitherEnglishorFrenchlanguageskillsandabilities.
