Along with concerns about economic and environmental sustainability, we must constantly recall that the different segments of society are not yet able to equally enjoy tourism attractions, facilities and services. Based on the principles of the 2007 International Convention on the Rights of Persons with Disabilities, UNWTO works to promote “Accessible Tourism for All”, as we believe that facilitating travel for people with disabilities is a basic, cross-cutting and integral element of any responsible and sustainable tourism policy. To advance “Accessible Tourism for All”, in addition to the political will, which is crucial, it is also essential to build know-how and strong partnerships among public authorities, the private sector and organizations of persons with disabilities.
