Its a well written book that covers UML and java side by side. Some basic knowledge of UML is necessary for reading and understanding this book. It deals extensively with writing the GUI programs using the UML. The last 2 chapters of the book deal with programming with databases, and web programming with Java Server Pages. Which I found to be very useful as it discussed programming these via UML. All In all its a well written and good book if you wan to learn to write java programs using the UML.
