The text of IEC Standard has been approved assuitable for publication as an Indian Standard without deviations. Certain conventions are, however, not identical to those used in Indian Standards. Attention isparticularly drawn tothe following: a) Whereverthe words 'InternationalStandard'appear referring to this standard, they should be read as 'Indian Standard'. b) Comma (,) has been used as a decimal marker, while in Indian Standards, the current practice isto use apoint (.)asthedecimal marker. In this adopted standard, reference appears to certain International Standards for which Indian Standards also exist. The corresponding Indian Standards, which are to be substituted in their respective places, are listed below along withtheir degree of equivalence for the editions indicated: InternationalStandard CorrespondingIndian Standard Degree of Equivalence lEG60038 :1983 IECstandardvoltages IS 12360 : 1988 Voltage bands for Technically electrical installations including preferred Equivalent voltages andfrequency IEC 60050 (604) : 1987 International IS 1885 (Part 70) : 1993 Electrotechnical Identical Electrotechnical Vocabulary (lEV) vocabulary: Part 70 Generation Chapter 604: Generation, transmission transmission and distribution of electricity and distribution ofelectricity- Operation -
