This standard was first published in 1966 and revised in 1987. In this second revision, the objective of this standard is to limit the number of tools, gauges and measuring instruments needed for the manufacture and checking of radii. Therefore, only the radii specified in this standard should be used in the design of work pieces. In this standard editorial revision has been made and the examples have been brought into line with current practice. In the formulation of this standard, considerable assistance has been derived from DIN 250 - 2002 ‘Radii on work pieces and their representation in technical drawings’. Annex A of this standard is for information only. For the purpose of deciding whether a particular requirement of this standard is complied with, the final value, observed or calculated, expressing the result of a test or analysis, shall be rounded off in accordance with IS 2 : 1960 ‘Rules for rounding of numerical values (revised)’. The number of significant places retained in the rounded off value should be the same as that of the specified value in this standard.
