Amusement parks in India are becoming quite common and people visit these parks quite often. In order to ensure their safety inamusement parks orwhileenjoying therides,anattempt hasbeen madetostipulate safety inthe form of aNational Code. Itishoped thatorganizers of amusement parks, manufacturers ofrides would make useof these codes toensure overall safetyofhuman beings andequipment atsuchplaces. The code ofrecommended practice foramusement rides safety isbeing brought out insixparts. This standard covers theessential requirements relating toselection, training andsupervision ofoperators. Theother parts in this series are asfollows: (Part 1) General information (Part 2) Safety requirements (Part 3) Design, manufacture anderection (Part 5) Operation andmaintenance procedures (Part 6) Performance tests Inpreparation ofthis standard, as s istance hasbeen taken from ASTM standards available onamusement rides ordevices.
