GRADE 3 A CHIEVEMENT TEST LANGUAGE LEARNING Part A: Writing Instructions to Students • Read the story starter as your teacher reads it a loud. • To help you explore and plan some ideas for your writing, your teacher will give you up to 1 0 m inutes to talk in g roups of two to four. If y ou prefer, you can think about the writing by yourself. • Next, take 5 m inutes to write down your ideas and plan your writing on the page labelled IDEAS/PLANNING. • Decide which kind of writing (story, letter, diary/journal) will allow you to do your best writing. • Write your story, letter, or diary/journal entries. • When you have finished your writing, CHECK YOUR WORK and correct any mistakes you find. • You have 50 MINUTES to finish your writing.
