Parahyangan Catholic University, Indo- nesia, in collaboration with Politeknik APP Jakarta (Ministry of Industry), Indonesia. The conferencehasbeenproventoreceiveenthusiasticresponsefromscholarsandpractitionersin the fields of business and economy. Participants from several countries such as Australia, Vietnam, Malaysia, United Kingdom, Singapore, Japan, and many cities in Indonesia attendedthisyear’sconference. Discussing its theme “Global Competitiveness: Business Transformation in the Digital Era”, the conference welcomed Ir. Airlangga Hartarto, MBA, MT, the Minister of Industry, RepublicofIndonesia,asthekeynotespeaker.Inaddition,theconferencealsoinvitedseveral invited speakers such as Dr. Arief Gusnanto from the University of Leeds; UK, Prof. Lorne Cummings,AssociateDean–HigherDegreeResearch–FacultyofBusinessandEconomics; Dr.Ir.NgakanTimurAntara,HeadofIndustryR&DAgencyMinistryofIndustry,Republic of Indonesia; and Michiko Miyamoto, Deputy Director ILO Indonesia & Timor Leste. To have more practical insights, the conference held a workshop entitled “theoretical and meth- odological suggestions for publishing in leading scholarly journals” delivered by Prof. Chris Patel, Dr. Pei Pei Pan, and Dr. Ranjith Appuhami, all from the Department of Accounting andCorporateGovernanceMacquireUniversity. There were approximately 200 submissions from authors from various countries to the con- ference.Thecommitteewentthroughrigorousselectionanddecidedtohave54papersaccepted intheproceedingsofEBCICON2018,publishedbyCRCPress/BalkemabyTaylor&Francis.
