TASTE
HAS A NAME
Dear Reader
A drop of oil. A pinch of fleur de sel. Spices from around the world. The best
meat. Leaves from the herb garden. Freshly caught fish. The choices and
combinations are becoming ever greater, but ORIOR makes it easier to make
the right choice.
With our new retail brand “Le Patron”, we make it just that little bit easier for
consumers to navigate their way through this jungle. The brand combines fresh
convenience products from the competence centres of Fredag, Pastinella and Le
Patron (p. 10). But we wanted to offer more than just easier decision-making.
Under the slogan of “Taste has a name” we have set ourselves the goal of
exceeding consumers’ expectations in terms of freshness, taste, quality and
regionality. And we are proud to say that we have achieved this goal. This is also
true for the hearty lasagna from Ticino (p. 43) and the vegetarian and vegan
specialities of Nature Gourmet (p. 30).
In May 2014, we also acquired the Swiss organic tofu specialists, Noppa AG
(p. 33). Noppa is well positioned as a company and as a brand, and it fits in
perfectly with the ORIOR product and brand portfolio (p. 48).
VegüV is not a vegetarian innovation from ORIOR. In fact, it represents the
adopted regulation known as the Rip-off Initiative (p. 8). For once, things were
not quite so bright and snappy, but more formal instead. Regulations,
ordinances, and laws have strongly influenced the events of the last two years.
We are having to constantly adapt ourselves to new guidelines both in terms of
NATURE
food safety, animal welfare and animal husbandry (p. 22) as well as in matters
G URMET
concerning the stock exchange and regulations. In addition, the importance of a
transparent representation of the ecological footprint (p. 16) is growing steadily.
Having the flexibility to respond in a timely manner to changing conditions and
the needs of consumers is fundamental for sustainable success.
We will continue to do our utmost to exceed your expectations far into the future.
We hope you find this issue of Fresh Appetizer both enjoyable and interesting!
Yours sincerely

New brands
from ORIOR Excellence in Food
for the retail trade
Convenience products from ORIOR have been offered in the
retail sector since autumn 2013 under the joint brand name
of “Le Patron”. Pasta and sauces from Pastinella, pâtés,
terrines and menus from Le Patron as well as poultry
and meat products from Fredag form a well-rounded and
attractive range.
The simple look in its elegant white underlines the value of the range.
The design is laid out in such a way that it puts the product at the centre,
whilst allowing ample space for images of the food as well as a viewing
window. The logo is informally traditional in a distinctive font, which in
turn increases the reminder value for the customer.
