Since this list is limited to general reference works, readers who are interested in specific political topics or area studies are command for topics such as: TERRORISM, POLITICAL PARTIES, PARTIES, advised to search MUSE using the S = COMPARATIVE GOVERNMENT, SOCIALISM etc. The Reference collection also contains many specialized subject bibliographies on people (e.g. Marx), their ideas (e.g. Marxism) and political philosophies, concepts and systems (e.g. Communism). Government publications are an important source of material for political science. The Government Documents special indexes and Department, 2nd floor, McLennan Library has a large collection of documents including bibliographies not covered in this guide. McGill is a depository library for the following: Canadian Federal Government, Quebec Provincial Government, the United Nations and the European Union. In addition, representative collections from countries are the other provinces, the United States, and Great Britain as well as smaller collections from various other maintained. Machine Readable Data Files (MRDF) are made available through the collaboration of the Faculty of Arts. McGill University's Computer Lab (FACL), the library and the Computing Centre. Data have been acquired through membership in the Inter-University Consortium for Political and Social Research ( ICPSR].
