The Guidebook of Federal Resources for K-12 Mathematics and Science is part of the continuing effort to identify and disseminate resources that strengthen mathematics and science education in the United States. The publication identifies by region mathematics and science education facilities and contacts for programs administered by each Federal agency or department. ENC has worked closely with representatives from many Federal agencies to compile the information in this publication. Eisenhower National Clearinghouse provides K-12 teachers throughout the United States with a comprehensive source of information about mathematics and science curriculum materials. ENC is located at The Ohio State University and funded through a contract with the U.S. Department of Education's Office of Educational Research and Improvement. Information about curriculum resources is available online through ENC's electronic catalog, in print through a variety of publications, and beginning this year, on CD-ROM. Information in the Guidebook is also available through ENC Online, ENC's World Wide Web site available via Internet or by modem access using a toll-free number. For additional information about how to access ENC Online, refer to the following pages. The Eisenhower National Clearinghouse works closely with the Eisenhower Regional Consortia in the national effort to support systemic improvement of mathematics and science education. The Regional Consortia and the Clearinghouse collaborate on identifying and distributing mathematics and science curriculum materials and on identifying products and services that support the professional development of teachers and other education professionals. I wish to thank the representatives of the Federal agencies who provided the information included in the Guidebook. I also wish to acknowledge the information-gathering and production support provided by Aspen Systems Corporation staff, and the work of the ENC Publications team who made this edition of the Guidebook possible.
