IV Summary of Revisions for the 1999-2000 School Year The General Information Bulletin for 1999-2000 contains revisions pertaining to matters of policy and procedure. It is most important that readers familiarize themselves with these as they prepare to administer diploma examinations for the 1999-2000 school year. Fran9ais 30 Partie A** Fran^ais 30 Partie B ^Students are permitted an additional one-half hour to complete their examinations. **Part A a nd Partie A d enote the written-response sections of the English 30, English 33, and Fran^ais 30 diploma examinations. 3 Significant Dates by Administration November 1999 Administration August 26, 1999 • List of designated November writing centres provided to schools September 30, 1999 • Deadline for all November 1999 accommodation requests for students with special diploma examination writing needs October 8, 1999 • Deadline for all November registrations (and payment of fees, if applicable) including those of students who are not receiving instruction in the course in a school, those of students who wish to rewrite, and those of individuals who have mature student status and who wish to write the November diploma examinations in English 33, Mathematics 30, and Chemistry 30, and their French translations October 12, 1999 • Principals should contact the Student Evaluation Branch to make arrangements for their students to use a computer at designated writing centres for the written-response assignments of English 33 Part A. October 26, 1999 • The Student Evaluation Branch ships diploma examination materials to writing centre locations October 28, 1999 • Chief Presiding Examiners should contact the Student Evaluation Branch if they have not yet received their diploma examination materials or if there are errors or omissions in a shipment November 3, 1999 • School-awarded marks for students who have received instruction in diploma courses and who are registered to write the November diploma examinations must be postmarked or transmitted to the Educational Information Exchange (EIE) • Principals should have a method in place for informing students about their school-awarded marks that were submitted to the Educational Information Exchange (EIE) November 2-4, 1999 • Writing centres administer the diploma examinations according to the schedule November 4, 1999 • Chief Presiding Examiners must return to the Student Evaluation Branch all materials for English 33 Part A, English 33 Part B, Mathematics 30, and Chemistry 30 examinations November 30, 1999 • Results Statements for the November administration are distributed to students; transcripts are available to students December 10, 1999 • Deadline for receiving rescoring requests for November examinations December 22, 1999 • November rescoring results are distributed to students 4
