Kimball, and Arthur J. Screpetis REVIEWED AND APPROVED BY: Alan N. Cooperman, M.S., P.E. Russell A. Isaac, Ph.D., P.E. EnvironmentalEngineer VI Assistant Chief Engineer Supervisor, Office of Watershed Division of Water Pollution Management, North Grafton Control, Boston Digitized by the Internet Archive 2014 in https://archive.org/details/designatedoustanOOrojk_0 PREFACE This report is meant to expand upon and clarify the 1990 Massachusetts Surface Water Quality Standards (314 CMR 4.00). It provides a comprehensive listing of Outstanding Resource Waters (ORWs) by naming the tributaries to public water supplies, the ORWs within Areas of Critical Environmental Concern and the ORWs in other specially designated areas. This report also specifically indicates why a waterbody is an ORW. In concert with the triennial review of the Massachusetts Surface Water Quality Standards a Proposed List of ORWs is being developed. This list will present designations and/or reclassifications for waterbodies. Through the review and public hearing process a new listing of ORWs will then be generated and promulgated together with the 1993 Massachusetts Surface Water Quality Standards.
