Davis, Administrative Secretary to the Vice President for University Advancement at Delta State, has been named Coordinator ofAlumni Activities. Davis, who has served in her current position since 1993, replaces Vicki Fioranelli, who was named Director of Career Services & Placement. Davis assumed her new role in July. Prior to working in the President's Office, Davis was Senior Secretary to the Alumni Foundation / Director. She taught four years at Parks Elementary School in Cleveland before joining the Delta State staff in 1991. Davis earned her bachelor of science degree in elementary education from Delta State in 1974. Active in Cleveland civic affairs, Davis served as an officer in Ephfic Woman's Club, the Cleveland Junior Auxiliary and the American Cancer Society. While at Delta State she was a member of Kappa Delta sorority, and she has served as an officer in the Kappa Delta Alumni Association. A 1962 graduate, Mitchell earned the Bachelor of Science Degree in Education with a major in Social Science. He compiled an outstanding record while a student at Delta State where he was a member ofthe Men's Honor Council, Kappa Delta Pi and the Inter-Fratemit}' Council, He was also selected to Who's Who inAmerican Colleges and Universities and was named Senior Class Favorite. He began his career with the Travelers Insurance Co. following his graduation from Delta State, and he has remained in the insurance profession since. Mitchell has ser\'ed as president of the Independent Insurance Agents ofAmerica. A leader for reform in insurance law in Mississippi, he received theJ.H.
