The Masquerade of a Duke

Grace Darling, a beautiful orphan, clings to her dream of marrying a Duke. For the past year she has been exchanging letters with the Duke of Staffordshire and believes they are betrothed, even though they have never met.

When Grace finally meets the Duke, it's an encounter full of misunderstanding and mistaken identity. Oliver Charles Somerset, Duke of Staffordshire, is equally perplexed, he certainly hasn’t sent letters to this woman for the past year. So who has? To what purpose? The Duke vows to find out and will do so by whatever means, even if it means keeping his own identity a secret.

A charming, poignant love letter to literature with unique innocence, and just the right amount of romance from the pen of Elizabeth Downton.

For the Love of a Duke

Beautiful and gracious Charity Beresford is employed by the handsome Duke of Worcestershire, James Hingham as governess to his two neglected young children. The Duke is both an orphan and widower and a most sought-after bachelor. Since his beloved wife’s death, he struggles to cope with his grief and the charge of his two young children.

Lady Matilda Gate, has set her eyes upon the Duke, and with the help of her brother Bartholomew who is deep in debt, aims to snare the Duke for his prosperity. Charity has her own romantic aspirations for the Duke, which she has long kept secret because of her lowly situation. When Charity is given sensitive knowledge about Lady Gate and her brother’s plan she is torn between her loyalty and her love for the Duke. The ploy involves a terrible act against Charity and the children, but how can she prevent it? Charity has a difficult choice to make. Will she make the right one?

A romantic, compelling and appealing read which spins a mesmerising tale. Elizabeth Downton deftly stages heartstring tugging moments that guilty pleasures are made of.

The Revenant Duke

George Percy, the hot headed and impetuous Earl of Bristol, son of the Duke of Northumberland is in Spain fighting in the Napoleonic Wars. George is keen to fight in the battle, but due to his rank as a Colonel he sees little action. He pays one of his men, who has similar looks to swap uniforms in order to take his place on the front line. The British are defeated, and the “Colonel” is identified as being one of the dead. The rest of the troops are taken prisoner.

Back home, the news hits his father hard and on Christmas Day tragedy takes place. The younger brother succeeds to the Dukedom, as the world believes George to be dead. Not only that, but Henry also marries the women George was betrothed too.

Matters unravel quickly when the war ends and the prisoners are released.

George hears terrible stories about his brother’s behaviour, his marriage and how he is spreading vile lies. He returns to his home, where he hides until he plans a grand reveal at his brother’s Christmas Ball. During this time, he finds himself falling in love with Antonia, the girl he used to play with as a child and the daughter of their cook. A girl that society could never accept as a Duchess.

As Christmas approaches George finds himself torn between reclaiming what is rightfully his and the hand of the beautiful young woman that he loves.

An exciting and entertaining new story from Elizabeth Downton, full of betrayal, romance and gripping escapade…

The Pompous Duke’s Predicament

Miss Esme Hurst has never been interested in marrying nobility, she doesn’t believe in marriage of convenience, she wants to marry for love and has strong romantic aspirations.

Esme lays eyes on the handsome, but arrogant and haughty Duke Edward Fitzwilliam of Staffordshire and spends the night dancing in his arms.

But things change when she overhears him denigrate her terribly. Duke Edward Fitzwilliam intends to take a wife of good breeding, unblemished pedigree as well as vast fortune……until he encounters the delightful and winsome Miss Esme Hurst, can the Duke dismiss his prejudice?

An unpleasant episode with the abominable Marcus Clay changes the hearts of both Esme and Edward, but is this change for the better?

The Duke’s Love and Liberation

This plot will affect Fortune’s future forever in the most horrendous way. When she finds out about the deal Fortune flees to the safe haven of her Aunt with the plight of blackmail and guilt hanging over her head.
