Finally, we thank Alex Dickson at The University of Edinburgh for her sterling work to get the text into shape. vii ABOUT THE CONTRIBUTORS Dave Bainton Dave is a lecturer in science education at Goldsmiths College, London. He completed his PhD, Suffering Development: Indigenous Knowledge and Western Education in Ladakh, at the University of Bristol in 2007. Christine Bell Christine worked as a psychotherapist and group facilitator in London for many years before retiring to Dorset to concentrate on her writing. She completed her EdD, Visible Women: Stories Of Age, Gender And (In)Visibility, in 2010. Francine Bradshaw Francine has worked in the field of culture and communication. Now retired from her position as Development Worker in race equality and mental health with the NHS, she completed her doctorate in Narrative and Life Story research from the University of Bristol in 2010. Bristol Collaborative Writing Group This writing group comprises staff and students in the Graduate School of Education, University of Bristol. The group has been meeting for ten years and in this incarnation comprises Dave Bainton (see above), Tony Brown (former director of ESCalate the Education Subject Centre of the Higher Education Academy), Laurinda Brown (Senior Lecturer in Maths Education, Bristol), Nell Bridges (a counsellor in Shropshire), Viv Martin (teacher, counsellor, author of author of Developing A Narrative Approach to Health Care Research (Radcliffe, 2010)) Artemi Sakellariadis (Director of the Centre for the study of Inclusive education (CSIE) ), Jane Speedy (see below), Sue Wilson (a former counsellor, now retired to her garden) and Susan Williams (a specialist in transformative change among persons, groups, and organizations).
