THERE was a great turn out on New
Year’s Day for the Barry Island Swim.
Photographers backed into the water as
they waited for the massed charge towards
them –all looking for a great action shot.
Some swimmers take to the water for fun,
but many were using the opportunity to raise
money for charity through sponsorship.
One charity to benefit was Headway –
which works to help people with brain
injuries.
A spokeswoman reported that supporters
of Headway had raised more than £1,300 on
the day!
