studentsfromTyndaletravelledtoBolivia,Trinidadand
Thailand.Eachteam,withamixtureofpersonalitiesand
giftings,offereditselfinservicetomanychurchesand
ministriesaroundtheworldandinturnwasblessed theFatherandtheSonandtheHolySpirit."Through andthecommunity.Now,localministrieswillbebetter

"Anyonecangoonamissiontrip,"hecommented,matter-of-factly,ashetoldastoryofsurgically
removinganembeddedthornthatremainedformonthsintherightfootofalittlegirlcalledAdut.Although
Trevorhadnomedicaltraining,heinsistedthatourbasicNorthAmericanknowledge,anobedientheart,
andrelianceuponJesuswereallthatheneededtoserveGod.Basicfirstaidandhygienearerareina

Missionariesmustfullyexplore,analyzeandunderstandthenuancesofeach somethingpreviouslycalled"modernism."Thetermisvaguebecauseofthe
cultureortheywillnot—findahearingfortheGospel. Wealsoknowthatour historicalphenomenonthroughwhichweareliving.Neithertheoldnorthe
ownlifecircu—mstances ourcultureandallthehistoricalfactorsthathave newisinandofitselfwhollygoodortotallyevil.UntiltheKingdomofGod
influencedus mustalsobeunderstood.Ifnot,wewillbringtoomuch comesinitsfullness,thiswillalwaysbethecase.

Forfourmonths,welivedandstudiedinCochabamba,
Bolivia,andcompletedonefullsemesteroftheBRE
program.WetookcoursesinCrossCulturalMinistries,
internships,aswellastwolanguagecreditsinSpanish.
WhileIwasinBolivia,mybeliefsaboutGodwere
deepened,andmycommitmenttoHimbecametruer;my
lifebecameahomeforGod.ThisiswhatHenriNouwen
talksaboutinsomeofhisbooks,whichIreadformy
internship. HisexplanationofGod'shomebeingcreated
withinHispeoplehelpedmetounderstandGod'sgrace,
loveandHisentireplan,notjustHisindividualplanforme.
