a Fresh Start

very new beginning is a blank canvas, a fresh start.
Each year, when the clock strikes midnight and
it becomes January ‘st, we get to begin again.
‘We set goals for the new year and try to create anew
masterpiece. Just like each calendar year is a fresh start,

0 Is each academic year and each semester. We start

the semester with a blank slate—we can earn any grades
we work hard enough for, we can make new friends, we
can try new things, and we can meet new goals. With

he dawn af each new year at GW, each class is given

their own blank canvas. This academic year, the Class of
2017 left high school and came to college. The Class of
2016 put their freshman year behind them and returned
more confident than the year before. The Class of 2015
began to look to the future, to think about Ife and goals
after college. The Class of 2014 graduated, leaving their
undergraduate years behind and entering the real world
As our lives progress, we add brush strokes to our canvas,
working towards a finished piece, The truth is though,

even when one masterpiece is complete—our collection is
not, Throughout our lifetimes, we continue adding works
of art to our gallery, each fresh start and new beginning a
piece in our final exhibition.
