Many of the soloists and members are also students in Applied Music. The Chamber Choir was organized to provide an opportunity for carefully selected singers to acquire a high degree of performance skill through concentrated and detailed study of advanced choral literature. In the spirit of the renaissance madrigal singers, this group sometimes performs without accompaniment which is the purest form of vocal ensemble art. Both the College Chorus and Chamber Choir have had concert tours in Britain and France. The Chorus rehearses twice weekly during each semester under the direction ofFred W. Drifmeyer.
