Welcome
Welcome to the second release of the KPMG Building Society Dashboard; a new online interactive tool that
visualises the data from the KPMG Building Society Database.
This document contains all essential information for users to get started with the KPMG Building Society Dashboard.
It consists of two parts:
1. Dashboard User Guide
Contains instructions and tips on how to navigate through the dashboard and use its features, such as
applying filters, analysing graphs and viewing the underlying data.
2. KPI Definitions
Contains definitions for the KPIs contained in the Dashboard.

Dashboard user guide summary
Navigate through the Dashboard pages using the arrows on the bottom tool bar or by
clicking in the middle of both arrows to view the list of pages.
Click on the page name to jump to a specific page.
Filter the data you view by clicking on the options available.
To clear filters, click on the options you have selected so that all options are white.
Note: Power BI does not currently contain a ‘Clear all’ filter option.
View underlying data by hovering over data points to see the full details.
Right click on the data point to ‘See data’ and data table will show.
Interact with graphs and watch as the rest of the visuals on the page update to show
only data linked to what you have selected.

Focus on the individual visuals by clicking on ‘Focus mode’ to view full screen
Click ‘Back to Report’ to go back to the Dashboard
Build your own Dashboard using the ‘Comparison tool’ by:
— Clicking on the years (‘Select All’ for 2010 – 2016)
— Clicking on the Societies to include in graphs. You can filter the list of Societies using
the ‘Filter by Peer Group’
To remove all Society filters, click twice on the ‘Select All’ box within the list of Societies

Page navigation

with the Dashboard should take place within

Filtering
Filter the data you view by clicking on the options available.
Click on the options available to filter the data: Graphs will update automatically to show
- By Peer Group current selection of data:
Boxes highlighted in black show the active filters. You can
apply multiple filters at the same time to view more data.
- By Year
To clear filters, click on the options you have selected so that all options are white.
Note: Power BI does not currently contain a ‘Clear all’ filter option.

Comparison tool
Each of the KPI Analysis views contains a Comparison tool Select All
to allow you to build your own Dashboard by selecting which Click on ‘Select All’ to
