Lion Sanjay Agarwal was born on the 3rd February 1967 at
Birmitrapur in the district of Sundargarh, Orissa. He completed his graduation in
the year 1987 and thereafter passed L.L.B from Rourkela Law College.
Presently, he practices as an advocate in taxation matter.
He joined lionism through Lions Club of Rourkela and served the club in
various capacities viz Tail Twister, Joint Secretary, Vice President. Lion Agarwal
is closely associated with many social & cultural organizations.
Lion Agarwal is happily married to Shakun on 7th December 1991 and
they are blessed with two sons. Abhas is studying in standard 12 at D’souza
School, Rourkela & Ayush is studying in standard IX at Scindia School, Gwalior
MP.

Biodata of Lion Trilok Kumar Tripathy, Secretary
Lion Tripathy was born on 29th July1968 in Rourkela, Odisha. His father
Late Ganesh Prasad Tripathy was an entrepreneur for mechanical spares
manufacturer at Rourkela. He did schooling from D. A. V. School Rourkela,
Intermediate science from St. Augustine collage, Manoharpur, Ranchi University
and Mechanical Engineering from the Institution of engineers (India). Presently
engaged in his own industries. He closely associated with industries association
and life member of OASME, DSSIA, and OYEA.
Being interested in social work he joined lionism in 2008 through Lions
club of Rourkela. He served the club as tail twister, joint secretary, and PRO cum
bulletin editor.
Lion Tripathy is happily married to Neetu on June 1998. They are
blessed with two sons Rupesh Raj and Yash Raj. They are studying in st. five
and st. one respectively at st. Paul’s School Rourkela.
Bio data of Ln. Ritesh Mittal, Treasurer
Ln. Ritesh was born on 29th March 1981 at Birmitrapur, Orissa. He did his
schooling from St. Mary’s convent school, Birmitrapur and graduated as a
Computer Engineer from KITS, BBSR in 2004.
He worked with MNC SYNTEL for two years before starting his own
company GLOBAL ENVIRO TECHNOLOGIES. Being interested in social work
he joined Lions Club of Rourkela in 2009.
In 18 April, 2008 he got married to Shipi Mittal and they are blessed
with a child “ Pari ”..
Bio data of Lion P Karunakaran, Past President
Lion Parameswaran Karunakaran was born on the 25th Nov 1956 in a village
in Ernakulam district in Kerala. He graduated in Electrical Engineering from
Kerala University in the year 1978 and joined Rourkela Steel Plant in the year
1979. While in service Lion Karunakaran did graduation in Industrial Engineering
from Indian Institute of Industrial Engineering and MTech. in Power Electronics
and Control from REC (Presently NIT) Rourkela. He is working as Deputy
General Manager in Plate Mill, Rourkela Steel Plant since 2005. He has traveled
countries like England and France.
Lion Karunakaran joined Lionism in 1998 and served the club in various
capacities as Lion Tamer, Bulletin Editor, Treasurer, Secretary and Vice
President before being sworn in as President in July 2008.
Also he is a consumer activist and presently holding the post of Vice
President Consumer Protection Council, Rourkela.
He got married to Smt. Latha in the year 1984 and they have been blessed
with one son and a daughter who are pursuing their study.
Bio data of Lion Bijay Chauhan, 1st Vice President
Bijay Chauhan was born on the 7th October 1966 into a family of late Lion
Prafulla Charan Jena & Lion lady Bhubaneswari Jena at Baripada. He started
his schooling in Rourkela, passed matriculation from Ispat Vidyalaya, Sec-18.
Subsequently he passed B Sc from Govt. college Rourkela, which was the most
prestigious institution in Rourkela & M Sc from Sambalpur university. Then he
started working with VAM Organic Chemicals Ltd. in Kolkata regional office as
promotion executive for long seven years. But due to his strong affinity towards
academic line he switched over to join the esteemed Padhee’s Tutorial private
Ltd, Rourkela where presently he serves as branch head to take care of the
budding students of +2 science stream. He joined lionism through lions Club of
Rourkela in 2006 and was sponsored by Lion Bhimasen Pradhan. Presently he is
secretary of Lions club of Rourkela.
He is happily married to Kalyani and blessed with one son and one
daughter.

Biodata of Lion Bhimasen Pradhan, Past President
Lion Bhimasen Pradhan was born on 24th August 1958 at Deogarh, Orissa.
His father late Yadumani Pradhan was an educationalist and brought him up in
an atmosphere of strict discipline. Although the family hails from village
Khandadhuan in Deogarh district, due to transferable service of his father, Lion
Pradhan started his schooling at Birmitrapur, a town in Orissa & Jharkhand
boarder and passed H S C examination in 1974 from Bhawani Shankar High
School Sundargarh. After Pre-university degree from G M College, Lion B
Pradhan opted for Engineering and joined REC Rourkela (Presently known as
NIT) and graduated in Mechanical Engineering in 1980.
He joined as Graduate Engineer (Trainee) in SAIL and posted at RSP in
1980 and in service has undergone many training programmes and acquired
Master’s degree in Mechanical Engineering. Presently he is working as Deputy
General Manager in Sinter Plant –II.
Lion Bhimasen Pradhan joined Lionism in 1998 through Lions club of
Rourkela and has served the club in various capacity viz tail twister, PRO,
Bulletin Editor, Secretary, Vice Presidents and President. During his president
ship in 2006-07 he started communication through e mails, published e souvenir,
started a free website of the club www.lionsrourkela.orgfree.com and brought a
turn around of the club by improving the financial position which was in financial
crunch when he took over. He was District Chairperson i connect in 2007-08 and
has been recognized as E Guru by PDG Lion Palit. During year (2008-09), he
was District Chairperson Information Technology and during 2009-10 Zone
Chairperson, Zone-II, Region-I. In current lionistic year he is district team leader
for Information Technology.
An in born organizer he is closely associated with many Professional,
social and cultural organisations. He is a life member of Vivekananda Kendra
Kanyakumari, Ramakrishna Mission, Oriya Shahitya Pathachakra, President of
Pradhan-Pat Social & Cultural Association, Ex-Vice President and presently
committee member of Consumer Protection Council Rourkela. He had been also
a member of VOICE New Delhi.
Lion Pradhan is also a Charter Engineer and member of Institute of
Engineers (India) and lead auditor for ISO 9000 & ISO 14000, life member of
Management Association Rourkela, Quality Circles Federation of India,
Hyderabad. and Indian Institute of Metals, His hobby includes reading, traveling,
gardening, photography, social service etc.
Lion Bhimasen is married to Sanjukta and they have been blessed with two
sons Sarthak & Sankalp. Sarthak is at present a fifth year student in Electrical &
Electronics Engineering at BITS, Pilani . He was awarded Lion Arujan Agarwal
memorial award (for meritorious student) by PDG Lion G Vasudevan Nair MJF.
Sankalp is a class XII student in Ispat English Medium School, Sector 20
Rourkela.
Biodata of Lion G Vasudevan Nair - PDG
Past District Governor Lion G. Vasudevan Nair, MJF was born on 11th
February 1948 in Kerala, the southern most state of India. Having completed
graduation in science from Kerala University in 1966 he had undergone
extensive training at Kolkata in Management and Business affairs. He had a
brief period of service at Kolkata. He started his business in 1972 and migrated
to Rourkela in 1975 and since then continuing the business profession.
He joined in lionism through Lions Club of Rourkela in 1990 and became
Tail twister in 1995, 3rd VP in 1996, 2nd VP in 1997 and President in 1998, Zone
Chairman in 1999, Region Chairman in 2000 and Cabinet Co-ordinator in 2001
and 2002. He was elected to the post of Vice-District Governor at the District
conference held at Angul and to the post of DG of District Conference held at
Puri. He has been installed as District Governor by the International President
during 87th International Convention held at Deteroit, USA in July 2004.
His visionary approach and down to earth personality has adorned him
with numerous awards at the Club Level, District Level and International Level.
He has also been awarded with International Presidents Certificate of
appreciation in recognition of quality services rendered by him in 1999-2000,
2000-2001 and 2001-2002. In the year 2001 he was the only person who
received the International President’s leadership medal in the district 322 C2 at
the Multiple conference held in Jamshedpur. He was also awarded the grand
membership growth award in 1998-1999 during his tenure of President . A true
lion in real lionistic spirits he is also involved in many other activities. He is a life
member of Rourkela Chamber of Commerce, ISCON. Naturopathic centre and
also connected with many other social and cultural organizations.
A personality with true vision and above all a true Indian, he is married to
Lion Lady Kum Kum from West Bengal and blessed with one daughter and one
son. His daughter Reshmi has done her post graduation in Electronics
Engineering from USA and is presently working in California. Lion Vasudevan’s
son Shankar is also an Electronics Engineer and after a successful four years
service with Hewlett Packard has joined the family business.
A true soul, a true lion, a versatile personality, dedicated to the cause of
lionism is relentlessly continuing the journey of services and contributing
immensely to community development. Presently he is District Co-ordinator
Signature project.

Biodata of Lion Bhubaneswar Patnaik - PDG
Lion Bhubaneswar Patnaik was born on the 15th December 1942 and he
hails from Jatni, Khurda District of Orissa. He was elected as District Governor
during 1993-94 at Annual District Conference held at Rayagada in March 1993.
Lion Patnaik had a brilliant academic career stood first class first in M A & LLB.,
did MBA from New Delhi and has enrolled as an advocate. He joined in SAIL,
Rourkela Steel Plant as Management Trainee (Administration) and rose upto the
rank of Chief Personnel Manager. He opted for voluntary retirement consequent
to his being elected as District Governor. Subsequently after his tenure as DG he
worked in FACOR, Bhadrak as Addl GM (P& A). He practised as an advocate in
labour and service matter.
Lion B Patnaik joined lionism through Lions club of Rourkela in 1976. He
served as Club President during 1981-82 and subsequently as District Chairman,
Zone Chairman and Dy. District Governor. He was the first DG to be elected from
the western Orissa. Lion Patnaik is a Melvin Jones Fellow, member of Utkalion
Foundation and life member of Sight First.
He is happily married to Dr Dharani on 2nd March 1969 who also served
Rourkela Steel Plant. Presently Lion Patnaik is staying at Kolkatta.
Lion Patnaik made his share of humble contribution for development and
progress of the district 322C2. His slogan was Lions move together and serve
together.
Biodata of Lion M K Paramel Past President (Transferred)
Lion M K Paramel was born on the 8th Feb 1935 in Kuhhamkulam in Kerala.
After matriculation he did diploma in Civil Engg and came to Rourkela in 1957
and joined in M/s IGKD, a consultant to worked during construction of
Rourkela steel plant. After the commissioning of steel plant he decided to stay at
Rourkela and did contract work.
Being interested in social work he joined Lions club of Rourkela in 1993
and rose to the rank of President in 1997- 98. He also had served for the district
as various chairpersons capacity.
Lion Paramel is also a member of District Christian association and held the
office of Treasurer. He had several offices in Rourkela Christian , social and
cultural association, is a life member of Y M C A . He is happily married to Lion
Philomena.

Biodata of Lion (Mrs) Philomena Paramel (Transferred)
Lion Philomena was born on the 17th June 1935 in Calicut in Kerala. After
acquiring bachelor degree she did graduation in law and enrolled her as an
advocate at Kerala high court. Subsequently she was selected into judiciary and
rose upto district and session judge. After retirement she came to Rourkela and
joined hand with her husband (Lion M K Paramel) for social service. She joined
lionism in 2008 through Lions club of Rourkela
She is a very good violin player and also a animal lover too. Her home is
full of different species of animals and birds.
Lion Deepak Chandan Immediate Past President
Lion Deepak Chandan was born in Mussoorie, U.P. on the 28th March
1956. His late father was in service with Rourkela Steel Plant. Lion Deepak
Chandan started his schooling in Ispat English Medium School, Sector – 20,
Rourkela and stood first in his Indian School certificate examination. After
completing B. Tech degree in Metallurgy from I.I.T, Kharagpur in 1978, Lion
Deepak Chandan started his own industry and also took up execution of Civil,
Structural & Electrical project work in Rourkela Steel plant.
Lion D. Chandan joined Lionism in 1994 through Lions club of Rourkela.
He has served the club in various capacities viz. tail twister, lion tamer and
secretary. An inborn organizer, Lion Chandan is closely associated with many
social & cultural organizations.
Lion Chandan is also an environment activist and his hobbies include
reading, traveling, photography, social service etc.
Lion Deepak was married to Bharti on 13.12.1982. They have been
blessed with son Nikhil & daughter Radhika. He was the fiftieth President of
Lions club of Rourkela.
Bio Data of Ln. Rajesh C. Malhotra,
Ln. Malhotra was born on 29th April 1959 at Jaipur, Rajasthan. He did his
schooling from St. Paul’s School, Rourkela and graduated as a Production
Engineer from Birla Institute of Technology, Mesra in the year 1980.
He worked with different companies, like Greaves Cotton & Co Ltd, Indian
Register of Shipping, etc before starting work as a Surveyor & Loss Assessor in
1984. At present he runs an Inspection Agency, M/s Maltech Engineers &
Inspectors, conducting Third Party Inspection & Expediating services for
Thermax Ltd and Rieco Industries Ltd. He also provides professional services to
HDFC Bank, ICICI Bank, Kotak Mahindra Bank, Eicher Motors Ltd and a number
of Finance Companies as a Valuer. He is also on the panel of all the erstwhile
public Limited Insurance companies and a number of private companies to
assess losses as a Surveyor & Loss Assessor.
He got married to Mini in 1987 and is blessed with a single child
Raghav.
Biodata of Ln. Sajan Agarwal
Lion SAJAN AGARWAL belongs to an old reputed business family of this
area in Rajgangpur. His father Shree MADANLAL AGARWAL is a traditional
businessman & was honoured with gold medal from State Government.

Ln Agarwal completed his higher education from Dalmia College,
Rajgangpur , Sambalpur University in 1984. After that he joined in his parental
business. Later he started his independent business from 1987 in Rourkela.

He is a life member of Sankat Moc-han Seva Samiti since 1990, Indian
Welding Dealer's association since 1992 & joined the Lionism in 2007 through
Lions club of Rourkela . An active member Lion Sajan Agarwal believes in
fellowship and transparency in activities.

He is happily married to Smt. Saroj Devi Agarwala. They have been blessed
with one son a daughter. Ankit Agarwal (1992) studying +2 in Deepika E.M.
School & daughter Sonal Agarwal (1990) studying BBA in Municipal College.
