What is Blended Learning?
Blended learning is defined as a method of

educating-at-a-distance that utilizes technology
combined with traditional education or training.

What is Student Satisfaction?
Student satisfaction can be defined as the student’s

perception pertaining to the college experience
and perceived value of the education received
while attending an educational institution.
Student satisfaction is one of the key factors for the

success of the programs.

Aim
The aim of this study is to develop and validate an
(cid:1)
instrument related to learner satisfaction with
regard to blended learner and to explore whether
satisfaction differs according to gender and age.

Distance Learning in Turkiye
The Ministry of National Education is responsible for
(cid:1)
all distance learning activities from kindergarten to
secondary level.
The Higher Education Council is responsible for the
(cid:1)
distance learning implementation in universities.
There is a growing private sector offering
especially IT courses via the internet.
On the other hand, distance learning is being used
(cid:1)
increasingly as a mechanism for professional
development.

Sample
This study was carried out in a blended-learning
(cid:1)
environment offered by Ankara University Distance
Education Center (ANKUZEM).
The sample for this study included participants
(cid:1)
studying in a BA completion program for the Faculty
of Theology in a blended learning program.
The data were collected form 360 learners, 235
(cid:1)
males and 125 females.

Learning Network Member (EDEN).

Ankuzem has BA completion and certificate

programmes. These are;
ĐLĐTAM is the BA completion programme for the

faculty of Theology.
ÖKOP is a certificate programme for the persons

who are working in museums and aimed
improving the museum researchers' knowledge
about historical creations.

ANKUZEM
ANKUZEM has own its Internet television. By TVA
(cid:1)
synchronous and asynchronous practices realization.

ANKUZEM has own a studio and through this it

could perform the implementations like video on
demand, academic tv, videoconference etc.

Data Collection Process
An instrument which includes item with six

hypothetical factors is designed to determine
learners’ satisfaction levels and to explore whether
there is a difference in satisfaction levels according
to their gender and age.
