The international exchange of the two academic societies began in 2009. Several researchers from KEBAreportedattheJAAEspringmeetinginthespring,andseveralauthorsfrom JAAEreportedtoKEBA’sconferenceinthefall,10yearspassed.Wewereableto deepen academic exchanges by mutual reporting and discussion. This book ana- lyzes the various problems of growth, trade, and public policy on the basis of applied economics. The research applied here focuses on such areas as public policies, trade and regulation, and development economics. In Part I, the broad problems of growth and regional economy are investigated, considering the eco- nomicdevelopmentsinJapanandKorea.InPartII,tradeandforeigninvestmentin Japan are studied, mainly on an empirical basis. In Part III, several public policies areexaminedvis-à-viseconomicpolicy,usingtoolsofappliedanalysis,andinclude anappliedeconomicanalysisofgrowthandtradeinKoreaandJapan.Wehopethat twoassociationswillpromotethefurthercooperationofacademicexchangeonthe basis of this project.
