It delivers a full, industry standard UNIX environment, with an industry standard expansion bus for un der $5,000. To achieve this incredible price/performance Apollo used the most advanced commodity microprocessor available, in volume, in the marketplace, the Motorola 25Mhz 68030 and 68882 floating point co processor, furthering Apollo's leading technology posture in the industry. It con tinues to be the performance workhorse in delivering computational power to the desktop. With it's standard UNIX environment and open architecture, it allows users the flexibility to meet all of their needs. Specific pricing can be found on page 24. apollo PRICE LIST A-vi 7/11/88 DOMAIN SERIES 4500 The Domain Series 4500 is Apollo's most powerful desktop, UNIX workstation, delivering a full 7 MIPS to the user. To deliver this level of performance without having to introduce incompatible architectures into its personal workstation family of products, Apollo used the Motorola 33 Mhz 68030 and 68882 floating point co-processor, the most powerful compat ible CPU on the market. Apollo also implemented other design advances of its own such as; a large physical cache to maintain no wait state operation and interleaved memory to maximize memory bandwidth to the CPU, to optimize performance. Specific pricing can be found on page 29. apollo PRICE LIST A-vii 7/11/88 DOMAIN SERIES 500 Turbo The Domain Series 590 Turbo product is Apollo's 3-D graphics workstation offering. It offers users full 3-D graphics capabilities such as either 24-plane true color operation, or 8-plane pseudo color, double buffer operation, all with a 16-bit Z-buffer for hidden surface removal. It is part of the Domain Series 500 Turbo product line which also includes two 2-D, 8-plane graphics products, the DN580T and the DN570T, both of which deliver high speed, 2-D graphics, capabilities.
