Tan Index 275 PREFACE Up to now, the evolution of electronics has opened so many research areas. For instance, one can identify design, modeling and simulation, optimization and applications issues in analog, digital and mixed-signal circuits. Furthermore, this book presents recent developments and advances regarding the design, applications and performances of analog circuits. The first part includes three chapters focused on analog design automation and application of symbolic analysis, design issues for the future devices and circuits using silicon-germanium (SiGe) Heterojunction Bipolar Transistors (HBTs), and approximation in analog signal processing circuit design. The second part includes another three chapters presenting the application of transconductance amplifiers and realizations by applying the nodal admittance matrix technique, the automatic synthesis of current-feedback operational amplifiers and their applications to chaos-based secure communications, and application of amplifiers for the realization of an analog CMOS morphological edge detector for gray-scale images. The last part includes four chapters with the main goal to compute circuit performances through a generalized optimization approach, a technology-aware optimization technique for Radio Frequency integrated inductors, an application of the Ant Colonization Optimization technique, and an analog mismatch analysis by stochastic nonlinear macromodeling approach. Every chapter introduces challenges issues and discusses open lines for future scientific research. Enjoy the Book!
